Default Lethal Performance's FRPP/Whipple Powered 5.0L runs 10's!

We had a good time at the track last night. Thankfully the weather is starting to look better with cooler air temps and less humidity. It's been a struggle getting to the track lately as well because of all of the rain we've seen lately. None the less I loaded up the car and trailer and headed up to PBIR where I met Jeremy and the rest of the crew from UPR. This was Jeremy's first time driving our 5.0 with the new FRPP/Whipple setup.

His first run of the night yielded us a 10.72@123.51mph with an impressive 1.53 60ft. The MPH was slow due to Jeremy hitting the limiter in 4th before the end of the track. He didn't want to shift into 5th after hitting the limiter so he pushed in the clutch and coasted through the traps. We don't think that effected the ET much but the MPH dropped because of it.

After several hours of waiting because of other cars breaking on the track we got another run in. This time we ran a 10.79@127.67 with a 1.57 60ft. This time the tires spun pretty bad off the line but we got a better feel of where we should be shifting into 5th at as we need to utilize the cars 1:1 5th gear ratio.

None the less it was a great entrance into the 10's. Jeremy feels the car has a 10.50's in it the way it sits. This is all with completely stock suspension and through the stock manifolds. The supercharger is still running the same 3.375 pulley that came with the kit and makes about 10psi peak boost.

Next week we'll be hanging with Mike Johnson of 5.0 Mustang Magazine as we swap out the 2.3L compressor for the 2.9L to do a comparison at the same boost level to see how the 2.9L stacks up. Once that's done we've got parts here for a motor build and it's time to turn things up.

I'll have the videos up shortly. Thanks to Ford Racing and Whipple for an awesome supercharger kit. Jon Lund of Lund Racing for his custom tuning. Magnaflow for the awesome sounding exhaust. Mcleod for the best clutch on the market and most important Jeremy Martorella and our good friends at UPR Products for their driving expertise and support!!
