We haven't had any issues with the driveability of the car or longevity issues, etc.

We've got an Auto w/4.10's, off-road x-pipe, CAI and 93 tune running 11.76 on street 18" wheels/tires and 11.68 on slicks. Running 10.93 on 100 SHOT nitrous.

Stock converter, stock trans, stock intake manifold, stock tubular exhaust manifolds.

Is this the Grabber Blue one that was in MM&FF a couple months back? That's definitely the direction I'd like to take my car which is nearly identical to yours, nothing too crazy and probably no NO2, but just enough to blow the doors off any 'vette that comes across my path.

You really ran an 11.76 on 4.10s, x-pipe, CAI and a 93 tune? Wow, I'm impressed.

So my 12.21 w/ 3.73's and no x-pipe was chopped liver? If I'd had better tires instead of some borrowed, worn-out DRs, mine would've been in the 11.9's.

How did you take care of the speedo calibration after the gear swap? Can this be changed with a tune? Was thinking of a tune only as I'm not sure I want to spend the extra three-fitty on a CAI for the HP gained. For the gear swap, did you supply the parts, and if so, what all was included in addition to the R&P? Install kit? I assume you'd only need the $40 kit without the bearings and seals for a car with only 3k miles. Thanks.

The speedo calibration was handled with the tuner. Whoever you buy tunes from, you can request that the tunes are unlocked so you can make adjustments. I adjusted mine as soon as the job was done. I also reflashed the tune recently with another adjustment for the new tire size I have on the car. I supplied just the R&P. My guy had all the shims required at his shop. Included in my install price was the cost of the gear oil and friction modifier.

Really sick power these things can do with just simple, basic mods. I can't wait to get this thing next year! You've officially convinced me to go automatic.

How much HP are you running with that setup? Everything minus the nitrous shot.

With the 4.10's, Bama CAI, Off-Road X-Pipe, Bama 93 Tune - we put down 391RWHP through the Auto. It's about 410 or so manual. Stock tubular exhaust manifolds, stock trans, etc.

We're gonna throw some long tubes on there now, see what that does - maybe 150 shot... 10.50's maybe?

I'm not into modding, but would like to just have a very nice reliable ride with big emphasis on RELIABLE. I'm thinking the extra power of the 5.0 would be nice and possibly have better resale value down the road. I'm undecided between getting the 5.0 GT with an AT or manual shift. I'm put off by the sound of some that are having issues with rough shifting etc. on the manual trannys. I'm scouring the various forums and finding little issues with the automatics. I'm hoping that means they have been "rock solid" and no complaints. I really don't want to spend in eccess of 30k and have an unreliable ride. Any thoughts regarding the auto trannys would be appreciated. Thanks.
