'11 GT ProCharger Problems?
I've been planning on installing a ProCharger on my '11 GT since I got it. I was ready to pull the trigger and called a well known shop to inquire about the HO kit and see what upgrade paths were available in the future. The guy I spoke to was very adamant about not going with the ProCharger HO kit, specifically mentioning heat problems. He went so far as to say his shop would no longer sell that setup due to the problems he's seen. Has anyone else heard of issues with the ProCharger HO setup? Again, this is a well known shop, who uses a ProCharger in one of their cars. Thanks for the input.
I'm not one to gossip and they have not done anything that I feel warrants a warning to others. I only mentioned that it was a well known shop to make a point that they know their stuff and that they run a procharged car themselves, so I don't see why they would not be truthful. The guy did try to sell me on a Roush setup, claiming this setup would make ~700hp at the crank and be safe on a stock motor. That seems to really be pushing it to me, but I'm certainly no expert. I only wanted to know if anyone else has heard of problems with the procharger setup. I was ready to go with this setup, but now I'm not so sure.
i run the HO kit on my car, because when I installed it, the Stage II kit was not available. the deal is this .... if you plan on ripping this thing on the track all day, the HO kit will not suffice. The intercooler placement (up, inside the bumper) will simply not work. HOWEVER, if you're just running on the street, as I do, you'll have no problem. I've never run into a situation where I found the kit sucking wind, and I would notice, because I'm a maniac. That being said, after this summer, I'm pulling my motor and going in a different direction with the car. At that point, I'll be upgrading to the Stage II kit. But like I said, I have several thousand miles on my HO Kit and found it to be awesome. So ultimately, it depends on what you wanna do with your car. If you can afford the price and wanna hit the track every weekend, Stage II is for you. But the HO kit is more than adequate for street applications.
As for this guy offering you the Roush Kit, take a look at the price. The margins on the Roush kit are also a lot better. I'm personally not a fan of a roots charger and think centrifugal is the way to go. Good luck

Well guys, I really appreciate all the input and a special thanks to CJ for the VERY informative post. 99% of my driving is on the street, hitting the track maybe 5 times a year, if that. I'd probably go with the stage II anyway, but this defeats one of the main things that attracted me to the HO kit, which is that it requires no modifications whatsoever.
