Ok i was just kinda wondering as to what the draw backs are to getting CAI and Tune besides possibly voiding the warranty.

well i was wondering more about engine life... a co-worker of mine was saying that a custom tune could cause damage to the piston heads among other things...

If the tune is bad, or way too aggressive yeah. If its from a reputable place like AM or Brenspeed you should be fine.

Does he own a camaro or a corvette?

With a reputable tuner there are no worries

Lol, yeah just get a tune from AM. They dont tune aggressively, and they even offer a warranty on the cylinder #8 issue tuners had early on when advancing the timing to much

I don't actually have a mustang yet. But I will when I return from Kuwait in about 3 months. I ordered a 2012 mustang GT 6MT black on black. The delivery date is suppose to be April 18th.

CAI tune are the way to go! American Muscle with BAMA tunes warranty theirs so that is great! The only problems I have even heard of which are like 2 out of 9999999999999, were on less reputable shops and 93 octane tunes. BAMA gives you whatever you want, I ran 91 race tune for 6000 miles with the pedal down and no problems...

if you are worried about warranty then yes, get a tune from BAMA to warranty against the #8 cyl issue.

If you can afford to rebuild your engine or replace it with a built one if something happens then just go with an experienced tuner. there are a lot out there, BBR, lethal, brenspeed.. all of the sponsors on this site are reputable tuners/shops. Just make sure you get an SCT brand tuner, most tuners use that hand-held brand.
