2012 GTCS- full exhaust question
I'm looking at replacing my full exhaust, & I'm not positive I have everything I need on my build list. I'm looking at bbk ceramic long tube headers, heartthrob straight exhaust cat to axle w/ x pipe, & borla axleback for my mufflers. Also thinking about running dual tips off each muffler, but that's no biggie. How does that sound? Please don't discriminate, I've never worked on cars, I'm a senior in high school & the car is my graduation present. I've saved quite a bit since I got a job & it's about time to start spending. Thanks for any advice y'all have guys! Sorry for the lengthy post!
I redone my exhaust on my 2012 Mustang GT. Kooks Headers,Kooks x-pipe no cats, and SLP Loundmouth. Be prepared for it to be LOUD, but it sounds amazing. I get sooooo many compliments on my exhaust, from people at the track to people pulling up beside me and asking me what I've got done to it. I was going through town yesterday and there was a group of high school kids on the sidewalk and I heard one of them say "that sounds dangerous". You'll love it, I would also make sure to have a CAI and tune to go along with the exhaust if you don't already have. If you plan on doing the exhaust work yourself be prepared for a battle, it took me and my brother roughly 32 hours to install the headers.. complete PITA..
You either buy the x-pipe with or without cats, the x-pipe w/o cats should compensate the length of the other x-pipe with cats. You should be alright with what you plan on doing. However, by going with an axleback exhaust, your resinators will still be on the car. If you want to get rid of the resinators you will need to buy a catback system.

Ooo man me too lol. Dont flame me here if I am mistaken, but the resonators are in place to keep down the volume. Also reading in Mustang 5.0 magazine, inside the pipes get down to about 2 inch which is no bueno for airflow.
