I would think an X-pipe will get you better flow, sounds a lot better IMO too. I would try to have a full 3" all the way through. It's costly, but it would be worth it. I've got a little over 2 grand in my exhaust (headers, x-pipe, and axle back).

Okay. So lets say i get heartthrob straight pipe with the X. How do i mount borla axle backs to the 3 inch pipe (borla has 2.75inch inlet!!)? Been racking my brain and kind of embarrassed if it is an easy fix lol.

If you start getting into exhaust diameter changes from different manufacturers you are going to have to get a muffler shop to modify it and install it. Assuming you are just having them put adapters on it it will probably run about 200. Also I don't think that 3" exhaust is necessary for non-FI applications. Yes you gain some at your peak range but you loose a lot more over the rest of the curve. If someone has some dynosheets that show otherwise post them up.

So then my final question.... Borla ATAK cat-back 3inches or Borla ATAK axelback with 2.75 inch piping to cats?

Dont think i will do FI with this high of compression motor. Besides, i played with a procharger on the Cobra which was fun, i think i want this all N/A.

That was Mustang 5.0's speculation. This is why regardless i would cut out the resonators. Either way 2" or 2.75" i dont like it lol.

Just trying to decide how i will set the exhaust up. Decisions Decisions...
