You're wasting your money if you get an intake. Your car comes from the factory with CAI. Just get a tune.

I always liked the look of the Steeda intakes, from my 2003 Cobra all the way up. The factory airbox is still very restrictive over the open faced intakes... at least everything I have seen shows that.

He's not kidding. The car DOES come with a CAI from the factory.

Just about all automobiles from about the the early 90's on have a CAI. An intake tube that draws outside air from either behind the grill ( like the '10 & up Mustang GT ) or from the fender wall. In some cases it has been being done earlier that that. The 2011-2013 stock "CAI" actually flows less that the '10 stock "CAI". Lots of that stuff all over the internet. Go to C&L Performance's website for tons of info on that. I think a lot of people are confused with the whole CAI thing to start with. How can an open filter element under a hot hood give you cold air? The one thing that I do know is that it provides a lot more air flow than stock. Sometimes as much as 300 CFM. A stand alone CAI, stock or after market is junk for as far as making HP. These combo kits are designed to work together. I am running the Steeda Ultimate Combo kit. It runs like hell compared to stock. I understand that the tune is 85-90% of the power maker. The larger intake provides far superior air flow to use the tune properly. Yes you can tune it without a CAI. To maximize it the larger intake is required.

What is your exhaust setup?

So is the CAI really worth the money?
