Default Does the stock exhaust system have kinks or flat spots?

Just priced the resonator deletes and they came out to hundreds more than just welding a couple sections in to replace them. Tried to find a pic of the system but can't.

The stock exhaust has the biggest restriction at the H pipe. It gets down to 2.25" at the smallest and doesn't open up again until after the resonators. I had a Pypes 3" X pipe and 3" exhaust pipe back past the resonators welded into the system and then installed the GT 500 mufflers for a much cheaper cat back than any system on the market. My goal was to stay in budget and remove as much restriction as possible without attracting every LEO in the area. Hope that answers your question.

Helps out a lot. Did you remember seeing any kinks on the over-axle pipes?

The over axle pipes are "squished" at points. I just put them in the garage rafters a couple of weeks ago and I remember thinking at the time how much more restrictive they where compared to the 3" Magnaflow cat backs that replaced them.

That settles it, I'll add them to the list of things to get.

Just as a temporary thing, you might want to try having a muffler shop cut out your resonators to see if the volume levels are ok and if there is any drone. Would be a shame to order the 300 dollar pipes then have to buy different mufflers because of something like that.

What I was planning on doing in that case was putting the stockers back on and installing a couple cut outs in front of the axle. It was a real beautiful setup on my f-body that actually gave me 10 rwhp when the cut out was open (fbodies have a y-pipe). I'm really grateful for all the info. They should be here next week according to the tracking so hopefully in two weeks I'll have everything done and tuned. My Bama tune will be here shortly so I'll get to play with it for a bit and hopefully see how much power I gain with the factory cold air.
