and no, the check engine light is not supposed to flash after hitting the limiter.

When mine flashed and i gave it a bit of throttle, it ran rough and weird, the actual code was "multiple cylinder misfire" when the check engine light stayed on once. After the light goes off the engine went back to normal and it only happened about once or twice a month. A ford "software update" didnt fix it. A bama tune didnt fix it. The new crank position sensor does seem to have fixed it, it hasnt come on for about 2 weeks.

After reading your newest 2 posts, you may have a different issue than me. Whatever your issue is should be covered under warranty though.
My old car, '04 Acura TL, would do this sometimes and it was attributed to the crank position sensor as well. On that forum, it was considered normal, but annoying.

Flashing Engine light is a misfire, Keep all your paperwork from Ford dealer! Trust me i had the same issue with misfires. Found out #7 cyl failed replaced long block under warranty this was at 4300 miles. 7100 miles new motor causing misfires on #4 &#7 removed coils. 13000 miles still misfiring.....Crapy dealer says its nothing. 24500 miles guess what same issues misfiring loss of power in 3, 4th gear. took it to another dealer and bam failure on #7 cyl.... Long block replaced under warranty. This car has some major issues which Ford cant seem to FIGURE OUT or FIX! My advice is to keep ALL your receipts for oil changes and DO NOT Touch your cpu!!!! they WILL try to blame you for any failures if the car is modded!! Good Luck!

BTW my '12 GT is stock!

Autocrossed my 2013 5.0 2 weeks after I got it on a half mile track. I had just finished a 2500 mile road trip the day before. Hit rev limiter a few times (6 runs) in 2nd on the first 3 runs till I got a feel of the car. No lights and still runs like a r**ed ape. I will tell you it will do 86 mph in 3rd

The car was at a dealer for almost a year before I got it. It had 435 test drive miles on it when I picked it up. I figure they broke it in the way I would have.
