Default New Wheels Arrived

My new Bullitt wheels and tires arrived yesterday. They look great and are going on the car this weekend. Is there a specific torque setting for the lugnuts?

While the wheels look good I'm a little disappointed in the GT center caps I ordered. Three of the four are scratched and they're pretty flimsy. Not the quality I expected. I might return them and just use the caps that came with the wheels.

Have you removed the thin protective film from the caps? There should be a clear film that protects them from being scratched during shipping, similar to when you buy a watch, cell phone, etc. It can be hard to tell the film is there, and it is probably this film that is scratched and not the actual caps.

As far as the design of the caps, they are identical in design to 1994-2004 Ford OEM Mustang Wheel caps, which is what all of our wheels use. If they were any thicker, etc. they would not fit the wheels, or would hit the wheel bearing caps, etc.

My apologies. The protective plastic was on so tight I didn't notice it the first time. The plastic was much more noticable on the caps already on the wheels. After peeling off the plastic the GT caps looked great. I installed everything this morning and they look perfect. No clearance problems with the 315/35s on the back either. Thanks AM for a great fit.

LOL, I thought that was what was happening! You're not the first person to not realize there was protective plastic film on them...I've even done a double take myself on these HAHA! Glad everything is good now, enjoy the wheels! - Nick
