Default Need some help with a hood scoop

Well guys thought I would ask around here see if anyone else has had this issue. My car came with the cdc shaker hood system(see link below), Which Im trying to get rite of. I need something to cover up the hole in my hood left from the shaker hood. I was wondering if the painted hood scoop from American muscle (see link below). If anyone has had this problem looking for some info or ideas

…SO you got rid of a somewhat functional but good looking hood scoop, and now you want to throw on a plain non-functional hood scoop to cover it up?

Why would you want to get rid of the shaker? A functional scoop beats a fake scoop any day of the week, and neither of those links work

mse5787,

Which hood scoop are you looking at to cover up the shaker cut-out? The links you listed above aren't working for me. Is it the regular hood scoop, MMD, Modern, or Cervini's?

Let me know so I can look into this for you!

Im really not picky on which on as long as it fits the opening. I was main wondering about:

Hood Scoop - Pre-painted (05-09 GT, V6)
Item # 71301

or

MMD Hood Scoop - Pre-painted (05-09 GT, V6)
Item # 71323

Okay cool, I have a feeling the both of those will just barely cover up the hole cut out in your hood. Unfortunately, I don't see any measurements from CDC on the shaker cut out, nor do we have a car here at AM with this installed. Could you take a few measurements on the length and width of the cutout on your personal car?

Once we have that exact measurement, we'll be able to check on the fitment of the other scoops!

The cutout measures 16.5" the length of the car and 14 the width of the car

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. It looks like either the regular Hood Scoop or MMD Hood Scoop will work for you!

I measured our '05 GT with the regular hood scoop. The front of it is 19" wide and tappers to 16.5" by the end. The length is about 21.5" long.

The MMD hood scoop is 21" wide and tappers to 19.5" by the end. The length is about 22.5" long.

Now I measured the MMD hood scoop on the 2014 MMD Project Car. I know it's not exactly the same fitment as the 05-09 MMD hood scoop but they're roughly the same size. Regardless, I'm confident the 05-09 MMD hood scoop will fit because it's larger than the regular hood scoop for all Gens.

Personally, I like the MMD hood scoop the best. It's has a little more of an aggressive appearance IMO. Either way, it looks like either option will suit the job you're interested in!

Shane thank you so much for your help. I agree the MMD scoop is the way im going also. You dont think there will be any issue installing the scoop because of having to cover the cutout?
