Rev your Shelbys
As we all know, Carroll Shelby passed away on May 11th. Since his death, many people have been working on a proper memorial tribute to this icon of automotive giants. They have come up with the perfect tribute. All across the WORLD next Wednesday at 6:55 PM (Tucson) there will be a "Rev Your Shelby". This will include all Shelby Vehicles as well as Mustangs. All of this will be coordinated from the Peterson Museum in Los Angeles, California. There will be a live web cast from that location which will direct the "Rev" across the world. What better way to celebrate Carroll's life than to rev your engine at the same time as his friends and fans around the world.
Tucson will be part of this memorial and you can be a part of what must be a never before tribute. Everyone in the US is trying to do this on top of a parking garage. We have found a location here and we have secured approval to do so. Our celebration will be on the parking garage downtown on Congress, east of I-10. It's easy to access and provides a beautiful setting with the downtown skyline to the east and the Tucson Mountains on the west. We would like a big turnout for this with Cobras, GT-350s GT-500s Shelby Mustangs and ALL other Mustangs for support. You don't want to miss this!
The parking garage is free and the gates are opened after 6:00 PM. All we ask is that everyone drive with care inside the garage. There are cameras in the garage and we don't want to be ejected. We are here for a memorial, not a race to the top. (Avoid the Desire) See the map and directions below. Also attached is an agenda for the tribute.

"The Southern Arizona Mustang Club and local members of Team Shelby celebrated the life of Carroll Shelby. There were over 40 cars on the rooftop downtown parking garage with beautiful views of the downtown area and the Tucson Mountains. This set the stage for the world wide tribute to Carroll. At 6:55 pm, as part of the tribute, we all got in our cars for the 15 second "Rev your Shelby". From inside my car it sounded great to hear all of those Shelby's, Mustangs and one Cobra sounding off for a true American Hero. After the "REV", we listened to some of the live webcast tribute from the Peterson Museum in Los Angeles. We also got to talk to some friends we haven't seen for a while and some Mustangs and Shelby's we haven't seen.
SAMC thanks everyone for attending and being part of this world-wide tribute to Carroll. I can't think of a better way for a true Car Guy to be remembered than by the sound of engines running at full song. As the sun set with the views of the city, mountains and the beautiful cars we closed the evening celebrating ......... a life well lived." Dave Carroll, SAMC
