Is there such thing as a head unit with and aux input on the front that will play MP3's burned onto a DVD? Or are the MP3 head units usually only compatible with CD's?


in other words, I want a head unit, and it has to have the following:

Aux input (prefer it to be on the front)
MP3 capability (prefer it to use DVD-R's, but I dunno if something like this even exists)
CD player


and does anyone have a link to where I can find the harness/adapter that allows the head unit to function with the existing mach 460 amps and speakers?

I have never seen an auto DVD player that will play MP3s from a DVD.....

 

The unit I have in my car doesnt play DVD but it does have the front input jack, and it will play MP3 files from CD.
It is an Aiwa

 

Just buy a dvd player as a deck..... You can buy cheap dvd/cd/fm radios on ebay for a pretty good price, they dont come with the monitors so you will have to buy that seperatly, but if you buy a dvd player you will be able to play the music throught the speakers even if there is no monitor/pictures to be viewing

 

sony makes a couple lower end head units that play mp3 cds and a couple more with the front input jack. I have one on my old car that i will be replacing my mach 460 head unit with.

 

if you dont want a monitor several companies offer single-din radios that play DVDs and DVD audio...i think JVC has one (actually has a small screen too)...alpine has two...check out Crutchfield.com

 

jvc kd-dv5100 can play mp3 encoded dvds. I have had one for a little more then a year and have no complaints. $299 retail, cheaper on ebay..
