Default Bulldog Remote Starter

Hi everybody,

I have a Mustang GT 2000 with a transponder anti-theft system, and I installed a Bulldog Remote Starter (Model: Bulldog DS1100). In order to bypass the transponder system, I had to add a bypass module (Model: Bulldog 791P). But the problem is that the bypass module doesn't seem to work. I can remotly crank the engine, but it doesn't start and the anti-theft light is flashing.

There is a working key inside the 791P module, and there is a loop antenna that I put over the factory antenna of the ignition switch. But it fails to send the correct signal.

Has anybody had this problem?

Thanks for your answers.

Valy.

P.S: Sorry if my english writing is bad, I'm Belgian.

disconnect the bypass and try remotly starting the car, with the other key in the ignition but not turned. If the car starts, then you know it is the bypass. If it does not start, then try again this time with the key on. If it starts the 2nd time you are missing a wire somewhere. The bypasses with the little loop that goes over the key are very testy. It is not as simple as throwing the loop over the key. The last one I did if teh loop was too far back it would not start. I had to glue it as far to the front of the cylinder as I could as it seemed the metal that encases the cylinder can block the signal.

Yes it remotly starts if the key is in the ignition switch, not turned. Note that I must first turn in the "on" position to make the anti-theft light shut off. Then I turn the key in "off" position without removing it. At this time I can remotly start the engine.

Do you have chip of the key centered in the coil inside of the bypass. From experence I have known that you have to cut the end off the key to position it in far enough. You should have cut the key arleady though

I will try to extract the chip out of the key and put it directly in the coil.

I really would not recommend taking it apart, new keys are not cheap......

Did you try playing with the placement of the loop around the ignition cylinder? Try moving it as far forward as you can.
