Default new stereo.

i am tired of the mach 460 system in my car. i want to get a new cd player and new speakers but i heard you have to rewire something. what do you have to rewire? i know a kid who took his mustang to a stereo company and he had mach 460 in it also. and they told him it would be like a couple hundred bucks just to rewire his stereo. is this really hard to do? also what size of speakers are in the front and back? is it 5.25" all around?
thanks

the system has 4 6"x8" subs 2 in front doors 2 in back seat and 4 2.5" mid/highs and extenal amps with built in crossovers it would be easyer to change the head unit and add a bigger system on top of the mach 460 system to replace the current speakers you have to compleatly rewire.

can i put a different cd player in my car without taking out the mach 460? i am looking at purchasing a new cd player soon and i need to know if i have to buy all new speakers to. i am selling an amp so i am going to spend the money on a cd player. so the mach 460 has 4 6x8 subs in it? i never realized the system had subs in it.

you can put another deck in and leave the 460. I am planning on FINALLY bringin my 94 gt back to Az when I go to indiana for a friends wedding next week. There is a really simple bypass for the 460 that not many people know about. It is hard to find if you don't know what you are lookin for, I am going to post pics when I do mine. If you can hold out for a week or two I can show you how and save you $$$ at installation.....

I have been plannin a simple but loud and clean system for a while now as I have been waiting for this car since new in '94. I install as a side job/hobby at a local shop so I am not sure what I want to put in it. The rear speakers are a bit of a pain to replace. Everything from the back seat needs to come out... You will be suprised how easy the speaker wiring is.....

What kind of deck are you looking at? I am going with the alpine 9857. I will need to replace the deck and front speakers for the drive from indiana to Az, and I am bummin a alpine blackbird nav from the owner. I am looking forward to the drive for the first time as the first two times I did it with a 17 ft penske truck and another vehicle behind it on a trailer. I don't think the mountains will slow me down much this time.....

i was thinking about a eclpise 8445 cd player, boston speakers all around, amps to power the speakers, and then boston just came out with a sub that is like a oval type thing, i want that also. i have heard that sub is pretty loud and sounds amazing. i just need to get the funding for my project. maybe by the end of the summer i will have some money.
