Default Head unit install

I was wondering if I just installed a standard head unit, if it would be possible to use the mach system. I have heard that you cant use the amps if you get a new head uit. Is this true? If not what do I need to do to use the system?

You would have to figure out which is the remote lead for the factory amps. And then supply a 12v signal to get em to turn on. Best buy and other custom audio shops should have harnesses that you can buy thatll be compatible with the system. Your best bet is to ask them, theyll have all the reference manuals. Plus whenyou get the harnesses itll be a MUCH cleaner install, you wont have to cut any factory wires or anything.

how is Best buy in the custom world? I freekin hate that place and would never recommend anyone go there unless they bring the vasoline with them........

What year is your car? I am going to be installing a new alpine into my '94 with the mach 360 and plan to show how to do it. It is easer then you would think and there is no need to go to the place with the **** yellow price tag on the front of it.

I put mine in today and it is working. I have the sub working as well as the rest of the speakers but I need to have a high pass cross-over to get the best sound out of it as the sub is barely starting to sound good when the front tweeters start distorting. I took pics of everything to show how and will be posting them on cardomain.com to show how to do it. Unfortunatly after I put mine in and played with it today I had to go and put my buddy's deck/sirius/sub in his truck. By the time that was all done I now have barely enough time to get all my stuff together to take off for Arizona tomorrow. I am expecting to be there on friday night or saterday and will have time after that to get the page up and running to show everyone else how to do it.
