ok I am using a cd player that is good, I pluged in both the harness clips it is wired correctly however my problem is when I plug it in and turn the key on a cd will eject however when u push it in it wont start up the lights dont comeo on and the radio wont work its like there is juice going to the cd player (enough toread eject and feed) but it wont turn on..


what is the problem u guys think?

there are two wires that the cd player needs for power. The fact that it resets itself and ejects the cd means that you have constant power, but the fact it will not power up showes that you are missing the switched or ignition pwr wire. Check all your fuses and if you have a volt meter now is time to pull it out and check those wires....

I'm almost positive it is a fuse. It's not wiring. I had the same problem...there are three fuses I believe, not including the one on the stereo. One is probably on under the hood, it is the memory wire, or constant wire which allows constant power to the radio for the clock...etc. There are also 2 other fuses under the drivers side dash. One also allows the windshield wipers to work. I'm not sure the fuse placement in an 87 though, this is for my 2000. Replace that fuse and it should work. Although, I can't be certain as I'm not there and I haven't worked with that year. I almost positive it is a fuse blown.
