Default Inability to Play Burned CD's

I've got an 03 GT with a stock HU, the Mach system with 6-CD changer. It plays store-bought CD's just fine, no worries.

But on burnt cd's, the first few songs are good, then by 3 & 4 it starts to skip a bit, getting worse as it goes up in tracks.

Any idea what causes this or what I can do to fix it? Im pretty lost on this one...

stock units wont always play burnt cd's because they're not as reflective. you can try a different brand of cd's, (good quality ones)

I found that using a different burning program eliminates the problem. My car will not play CDs burned by Windows Media player and once I started using a downloaded burning program the problem has been solved.

Thanks for the responses guys. I use the burning program that came with the computer, I forget the name but its not a MS product.

Any suggestions on brand of CD's to buy?
