I only ordered the Shaker 500 system on 07 GT. I didn't feel that an extra 500Watts was worth the $1000+ price tag. The best car stereo I'm around right now is the Monsoon system in my Girlfriend 1.8T Beelte, I think its 200Watts. I think hers is plenty powerfull, so I'm guessing that with over twice the power the Shaker 500 system will be a good amount better. My brother who works for Ford was ranting and raving on how powerfull the Shaker 1000 system is and he sounded a little disappointed when I told him I didn't get it. Is the Shaker 1000 really that powerfull? And other than the obvious 500Watt power advantage, what are the advantages/disadvantages of the Shaker 1000.

 

To answer your question in short....The shaker 1000 sucks. It is definately not worth the extra $1000. If you know anything about or heard any aftermarket audio this definately does not comopare. I have the shaker 1000 and am anything but satisfied with it. Yes, you get more power and more speaker but nothing is adjustable. There is no gain controls on any of the amps, I can play it at full volume and still not get it "loud." To me this thing is a giant POS. I'm glad I didnt pay the extra $1000 for it, my dealer gave me a rebate because they messed up my invoice. Nevertheless, you will be fine with the 500. Chances are you will want to upgrade something or other in no time at all, and with the $1000 you saved you can buy some real audio equipment.

Sorry for the rant, but I love everything about my car, except this poor excuse of a competitor with aftermarket audio.[sm=rant.gif]
