Default How would this box sound?

This is a box that I want to build for my 1999 Mustang GT trunk. I am pushing 2 10" Sony Xplod subs, so let me know what you guys think about this box design that I came up with...The size of the box itself isn't official, just the layout is what I'm working on at the moment. Let me know how you'll think it would sound.

I wouldn't port the box if I were you. I would stick with a sealed box. Otherwise, looks good.

Box looks good but go with sealed. You will get better performance from those sonys. They seem to get very sloppy in ported boxes. There goes your SQ!

Default RE: How would this box sound?

I need some help on coming up with the proper measurements on for my box for these subs. The directions that come with the subs call for 14 5/8 across the front of the box, 12 1/4 high, and 7 1/8 deep. For two subs the measurements would be about the same, only the front would need to be 29 1/4. These are the recommended measurements for a sealed box for these subs, but I'm not sure if I want to make it that small. I used to have an old box that held one of these Xplods and it was 12 by 12 all around, and the lows would never hit...and it kind of struggled a bit when the notes got real hard. When I moved to a deeper box, the lows really stood out and the subs itself looked like they were hitting much smoother. I need some expert advice about what I should do as far as measurements go.

xplods are probly the crappiest subs i have ever heard... there are better budget subs out there... but since you already have the subs i guess go sealed cause they will def. sound like crap in ported

there are better, there are worse............ There always is....

12 x 12 would get you around 1 cubic foot of airspace which is probably too much. It is not too hard to do if you get a couple measurements, rember when your algabra teacher said that you would need to know this??

Measure between the wheels, and from the bottom of the trunk to the lowest part of the rear deck.
