Default Will alarm void warrenty?

I have a 2002 GT with about 1.5years left on my bumper to bumper warrenty. I was wondering if anyone knew if i would void the warrenty by adding an aftermarket alarm/remote start system? The only reason being because you have to alter some of the factory wiring. I would do the install myself.... any responces appreciated. Thanks

as long as you don't fry the electrical system installing it you should be fine.

If I were you I would call the dealer. If you hack into the electrical system to install these things who knows what they might do. Always call and check and then go from there.

It shouldnt the only way you would void the warranty would be if you did a mod an then had a problem and the mod was the cause of the problem. When I had my car under warranty I got new exhaust, cai, new optima battery, new system, alarm, and a bunch of other mods and it didnt void the warranty just make sure that you get PROFFESSIONAL INSTALLATION on the alarm and stereo unless you have experience and know what your doing, other than that I did the exhaust, drop, cai, etc by myself and never voided the warranty....

thanks for the quick replies everyone. I think i'm just going to go ahead and put it in myself, i'm good with electrical work so i think it will be fine..... not to mention a hell of a lot cheaper than having it installed. Thanks again...

you can do alot of damage to a car with an alarm. Security was something that I slowly eased into and after 10+ yrs doing it, it will still give me headachs from time to time...
