99 gt radio please help!!!
i just bought a pioneer stereo for my mustang with wiring harnessso i pull the old radio out and there is no connectors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! somebody spliced all the wires and now my problem is i cant find a battery source and the ignition source i think i found the ground but either way the old radio is busted and now i cant hook up this new one has anybody ran into this problem ??? usually when i hook up stereo's i instantly look for a yellow red and black wire but i just have a crap load of diffrent color ones does anybody know if i can get a power source from where the cd player mounts or where the tape player mounts???? thank you
I'd get a computer-safe test light instead of an old-fashioned incandescent test-light. I heard a story about a stereo installer who accidentially probed an airbag wire with an incandescent light with his head next to the steering wheel, and it set off the air bag and killed him.
Also, incandescent lights can fry ECUs.

I will call shinanogins on that one............ I have seen people unknowingly cut into airbag wires, and even throw some voltage in them and nothing happened(funny story). I also would have to say that if this guy did probe a bag wire that he had it commin.... They are almost always in a BRIGHT yellow shielded cable that has a tag every 8 inches er so sayin"AIRBAG, TO NOT CUT!". The only time I have heard of a bag going of on accident was in a mercedes(another funny story since it wasn't me or my car).
He is right however that it is worth the $$ to get a computer safe one....
