Has anyone had any experiance removing the stock fender mounted antenna and replacing it with an interior windshield mounted antenna?

Or any other options for alt antenna mounting would be a help.

I think without the antenna that area would be smoothed out!

you can always try a simple strip mount antenna. They are easy to install and cheap.

 

Be careful removing the stock antenna. I was turning mine to remove it and the screw at the base of the antenna snapped of 1/2-way down in the base. Guy at the dealership said they probably have lock-tight on the threads. That base is a pain to remove as there is a support right over the access to it from the engine compartment...
