New stereo making poping noise!?!
This might have already been answered, but I cant seem to word it right for the search engine, sorry to bother you all again.
I Just bought a Kenwood (KDC-MP532U) head unit for my 2000 GT with the mach system. Now every time I turn on or off the car theres like a "pop" sound that comes from the speakers and after that everything works great. The guy at Best Buy told me that its normal for it to happen to the car and it causes no harm, but I wanted to check with people that care more about there cars and know more about stangs in general.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Mine does it as well and he is right, it doesn't hurt anything.
I hear if you put a 1k resistor in the remote output from the deck that it will stop? NEver tried it myself...

Try accessing power from a different wire. Or it might be a ground loop of some sort, in which case you want to try and find a different place to ground it.
That happens in the '02 Mustang with an amp hooked to factory speaker locations, but in the '99 it will not do that with amp hooked to the subs. Newer amps come with some sort of protection turn on feature that will prevent this, but there should be some simple resistor connetion to connect to the remote wire im guessing to prevent it.
its just the amp turning on, prolly need some sort of wire adapter to go from the new head unit to the old wire harness so it uses the amps and old harness right. something like that
