Default Radio Dimmer

Hi guys,
I was wondering if or how to hook up an aftermarket HU so that it would dim with the interior lights?
I have hooked it up with a wire harness and the such.
any help would be appreciated.

if the deck you bought has the option it will be an orange wire that would get spliced into the dimmer wire(also orange on an aftermarket hrns).

usually it hooks up to the orange/white wire on the aftermarket harness...idk some brands work and some don't...i hooked up my friends sony to the orange/white and it worked...however when i did my other friends alpine it didn't work..and neither does mine which is hooked up...trust me i know how annoying it is to have to go in to the menu and dim it manually when it is night time

try hooking it up to the +12v switched wire and see if the buttons come on with the key.
