I have two 10" Sony Xplod subs. The model number is XS-L100P5W. I am trying to see if anyone could help me design some specifications for a sealed enclosure. The enclosure must be able to fit into a 1999 mustang gt trunk. Please if any of you can help I would truly appreciate it. I made a box enclosure about a month ago, but the subs sound like they're not getting enough space or something. My high notes distort out and my lows sound real...pushed I guess you could say. I think I made it 30 inches across the front and back, 8 inches deep and 14 inches high. Maybe some of you can figure out what I may have done wrong and help me get the subs hitting cleaner than they are.

 

if we are going to make them to fit the car you will need to do some measuring. You need to find out where you want to put the box, and then measure for 2 sides between the minimum points. If you have 15" from the bottom of the trunk to the bottom of the rear speakers, give yourself an inch to be safe. If you have 36" between the rear fenders, give 35" to be sure. once you have two of the measurements needed as well as the required airspace for the sub and the displacement of the sub(how much volume it takes up in the box), we can find out how deep to make your box to get the correct airspace for the sub. make sence?
