Wiring Issues on '00
So, tried to install my Sony CDXGT210 today. Went behind the dash of my 2000 and noticed that it had a blocky black8 connector for the speakers, and a straight-across grey 8 for the power and such, instead of 1 black straight-across 8 and 1 grey straight-across 8. This, according to something I printed off from installdr.com, means that I have an amplifier from Ford inside. So, I bought the premium sound kit that fits my model and has the blocky 8 and the straight 8. Connected them all together, and the unit turns on, shifts channels, etc, and didn't burn out, so it's not the ground, but no sound. Frustrated, I start looking through the stuff, and find that there's a way to bypass the amp, but I can't find the other straight black 8 that plugs into it. Anyone have any ideas where to find this, and if there may be another problem? Driving me nuts! TYVM
EDIT: Not a Mach system.

Answer this one myself! I found a way to bypass the factory amp, (somewhere on this site. can't remember the exact post), and tried it. Sounded like absolute crap! So, I got to fiddling around with my harnessess, and plugged everything the way it was before. Then, I got to looking at a wiring schematic.. Alot of the decks out there won't include the wires for an 'amp on/remote', and the wiring diagram for the 00 said that it wasn't used, but I got a hunch, and hooked it in with my power (switched) wires, and.. voila! Nice, amplified sound blasting from all 4 speakers with no problems. Hope it works for whoever else tries it!
