Default Mustang Electrical

So I've just got a 96 Mustang and Im looking to sass it up a little. I got some interior accent lights, and my plan is to wire it into the headlight controls, i.e. headlights on, accents on! But, I can't seem to get access anywhere on the electrical line for that. Can somebody help me out?

Oh and if thats not possible, maybe I could wire it straight from the battery via an inline fuse and a simple rocker switch...but I really don't want to mess with the interior on it like that.

I appreciate it in advance!

you could wire it up with a switch.

the parking lights wire is a brown wire behind the switch. There is also a dimmer wire at the radio hrns but I do not know what color it is, and you would need a relay.

i like the idea. But i worry about the cop factor added to it. The cops around here see accents as distractions and will ticket you for them. It happened to me because of my pedals (i have led pedals) I have them hooked up through my fusebox and i forgot to turn them off by a switch under my steering column. (until i get a switch panel and other lights) But goodluck with taht

Well I cant figure out the easiest way to access that wire. Do you know how to? P.S. I tried removing the plastic frame around the gauge display, but I couldnt get it past the headlights ****.

it should be a little easier to hit in the drivers kick, or at the hrns going through the firewall. MAke sure to test it befire wiring into it.
