Rockford has a lot of LOW amp and wattage applications. i.e. My ranger HAD a a 351S(rockford), now has a concept 810d. and still has 2 P212s' (rockford.) and to be honest, it hit harder with the 351. Unfortunatly, I had a bad ground. Be sure to ground to BARE metal for your ground. But i would get a different amp for those subs, or different subs for that amp.
that was confusing. so did u like the rockford or not? lol

I LOVE rockford. They are the best subs I have ever owned. They have been in my truck for over 3 years and still hit hard as they first day I had them. I wouldn't trade them for anything else, well my some T1's... I'm trying to find a 351S, but they stopped making that series and people who have them don't wanna get rid of them. I'm also looking for a 551S, that should rattle the screws lose on my tag on the back of my 6 foot bed, I mean my tag already rattles. With that amp I would be deaf. Also invest in tweeters.I always thought they were gay, but I just put a $5 pair from a flea market in my truck and the sound quality is a LOT better, and you DON'T need to run an extra amp Sorry for the confusion, just don't see that being the best set up.

I personally would try and keep brand with brand. Give me some time and when I get off work latter today, I'll look them up and see how compatable they will be. They WILL work, your sound qualitly might suck though. I'll try and get back to ya latter today.

If you are truely interested in sound quality rockford would not be at the top of your list. Also, tweeters are nice, but much better when encorporated with a complete component set or a custom active setup.

Why must you keep the factory headunit? The souce is the key component to change to increase SQ.

If you must keep it place a couple high quality lone output converters to switch to low level signal. Run soem rca's to a decent quality 2 channel amp and buy a set of components to replace the front speakers. Add dynomat to boot and you will have a nice little setup. If you can give me a budget, I can make some recommendations.

Rockford is NOT the best, but I wouldn't trade. I think its the best bang-for-your-buck. Alpine headunits are probably one of the best to have, I had a Kenwood (no problem with it) but I upgraded to an Alpine, I have never looked back. Alpine is good stuff. I'll let PReal take it from here. But I just wanna say my Rockford has lasted three years of me beating the crap out of it and seems like it has a LOT more left. If you have the money, you could definatly get better quality. With only 400-500 you are LIMITED. I would have to push getting a new headunit though. It'll make all the difference the world.
