OEM wiring
I just picked up a 93 feature car. The only mods done as of now are a BBK cold-air intake, 3 chamber flows, and aftermarket radio speakers. This is what I need help with, the person who did the install did a nice hack job, and running new speaker wires throughout removing the 2 dash speakers and leaving it empty. I was thinking of removing and replacing the radio harness, radio, and speakers with OEM. Dont ask, I'm have something with a cars int. and system being stock and the nice factory look, and I think it'll be more valuable in a car like mine. Question, on my '90 GT, the harness could be easily disconnected from the main int. harness with OEM clips, is it the same for the '93? and if anyone is looking to get rid of factory stereo parts, radio, or speakers, let me know. I'm loooking for parts that are still in good shapr. Thanks. Sorry for the speach!
not sure on the wiring, would be easier to just run new speaker wire find the ground wire, constant power, and acs power wire and your done. Good place to find a oem head unit for cheap or an after market on would be EBAY
What type of wires and speakers should I use to get a nice clear sound. I'm not looking for a system to let people know I'm in the neighborhood, just something that sounds good inside. Audio has never been something that I was into, so I know nothing about what speakers or wiring to use, so any help would be great. BTW, with a Pioneer head unit and upgraded speakers, will I need an amp to achieve the sound I'm looking for?
you can go into any stereo section at walmart, best buy and get a roll of speaker wire. you want to make sure that it is copper wire. speakers, you can spend $20-$400 on a set of front speakers! you get what you pay for, but a good speaker for the buck would be a pioneer of infinity. Stay away from sony. plan on about 75-100 bucks. make sure the speaker is not a paper cone, they tare very easy. whats a BTW?
