What else do i need for self installation?
just saw this, been movin my pc.
A 40 amp fuse on 8 awg would be fine for the time being. If you think you could add another amp or even a different amp then it would be wise to run 4 awg to a distrobution block. This will allow you the ability to add more power later when you want it with out having to re-run wire.
Other things you will possibly need are ring terminals for the batt/groundconnections, Def need a fuse holder.... Wire ties are always good to have for keeping wires out of the way and for neatness.

Just to add another point. I don't think that amp has the possibility of really making 500 watts. I'll side with ttocs given the amp really isn't making 500 watts, but just like he said, if you ever plan on upgrading, go ahead and run the larger wire.
I think i am going to run the 4awg wire and pick up that profile amp. Is it safe to run that 4 awg under the car or should i pvc/run it in the car? What is a distribution block and what would i need it for? Is that to dispurse power to more than one amp? Thanks guys for all your help!
You need the 1000m becuase you have a 4 ohm dvc sub and when you wire in it parrellel it will be a 2 ohm load. The 1000m is 2 ohm stable.
If there is like a 600m or something like that, it will work, but not be ideal.

I have never yet ran wire under a car. Under the carpet is fine......
