Hey, your telling this to a guy that had pioneer speakers, a crunch sub, and scoshe amp in his last car...lol. MTX will sound good compared to what I'm used to hearing. [8D]

The 6.5's will be light years ahead of those damn 5x7's. Please get rid of those damn oval speakers.

Your 5x7's are coax's not comps.

Grab the component set, not the coax's. It is worth the upgrade even if you sacrifice on the quality of your sub or amp.

 

I have a hard time hearing the difference between a oval or round speaker, and really would challenge anybody that says they can........ I can tell if a speaker or tweeter is our of phase almost instantly but to say that round speakers are light years ahead of ovals I do not understand. Also be aware you will need to make a baffle to mount that 6.5 to. Unless you are going to make an enclosure for that 6.5 you probabl will not tell the difference. They make 5 x 7 componants if you just want a componant.

 

I have heard some slight differences between the two all other things being equal.

A you stated about the 5x7 comps, the real prize here is to upgrade to seperate crossover, woofer, tweet setup that is made up of higher quality pieces then the coax's.
