Default System ideas

Well, I have whats in my sig...JVC 50x4W headunit, 5X7 polks in the doors and rear, and MTX tweeters...all in a mach 460 system. But the tool that owned the car before me pulled the stock amps.

I want to add more sound. I am thinking about getting a sub or two and maybe amplifing the speakers. I work at a store that sells car audio so I get a good deal on alot of stuff. The sytem will be built mainly for rock and I want it to sound good. My budget is $500, any suggestions? Keep in mind I get like 30% to 40% off anything MTX, alpine, sony, etc.

Edit: Wow I can't type.

you can add a simple amplified sub like an infinity basslink or a bazooka. They are all in one and easy to install. Where do you work, what do they sell?

MTX and Alpine Amps are good quality. My personal opinion would be to go with an alpine head unit as well. If you are thinking of doing subs, put bass blocks on all the other speakers. If not, just tune the amps correctly. Nothing sounds worse than little door speakers trying to pump out a ton of bass. (Talk about distortion). Good luck.

So, basically, you want:
Sub(s)
Box
Amp
Amp Kit
Amp for mids and highs
All the wiring
and install unless you plan on doing it yourself?

And you want it all for $500?

Go away. [&:]

I wouldn't even mess with half of that hiss.

I would grab a descent set of comps for the front. A powerful 4 channel amp, and a single 12" woofer. If I was limited to those brands I would get:

Polk Db or Momo series 6.5 inch comps.

Alpine or MTX 4 channel amp (75-100 watts per channel)

Polk Momo or infinity kappa perfect sub.

Most of the experience of this board will tell you to ditch the rear speakers.

I put some JL XR series speaker all around and powered them with a JL 75Wx4 that i mounted in the trunk. Even without subs it hits pretty good and shakes my mirrors. When i had 2 12" JL subs it hit like a *****. I'm going to put in a 12W7 off a JL 1000W soon for some real bass.
