Go away
so lets see...i have a single 12" type R bridged running about a mear 415 watts RMS and it hits hard enough for the people who just want noticeable bass for under about $600 altogether...sorry i didn't join the A/V club in high school and choose to be an audio master as my hobby.. you guys are so critical and you put down everyone.. i'll stick with the 6er section
Hiss04.. just what brand do u stick with anyway? ? you seem to hate everything
I've always had good luck with Kicker solobarics. I had (2) 8 inch L5s in ported boxes with a KX600 amp that hit 136.4 db in a reg cab tacoma. A friend had one 15 inch L5 that was crazy loud.
Although i've never owned one I think JL w7s are the best all around sounding sub, bostons G5 sounds pretty good as well.

You know....
I was just at best buy looking for a wireless mouse for work, and I browsed over to the car audio section. I hadn't looked there in quite a while, and I was shocked to see the beloved type R 12 for $225!!!!!!
I thought to myself, self, there have got to be close to 10 subs I can think of off the top of my head that would blow away the Type R for the money.
1. ED O
2. ED K
3. FI BL (SPL)
4. FI Q (SQ)
5. RE RE
6. RE SR
7. Eclipse sw8122
8. Adire audio Tempest or Shiva
9. ID V
10 Polk MoMo
Dang, people are getting hosed out there.......

like anyone here can afford mcintosh stuff LOL - they are the highest of quality in all aspects.
eclipse subs are very clean and hit very hard, they also make some of the best head units out there and have for years.
mb quart makes excellent speakers and subs for clarity, followed by brands like infinity, polk, boston, memphis
kickers have always been good quality subs and amps. they are workhorses, as well as rockford fosgate stuff and mtx (mtx amps anways)
soundstream makes some wicked amps - anything zapco, xtant, old audio art, or old PPI's are very good

MB Quart since being bought out by Rockford has gone way downhill.
Infinity has went downhill in the last 2 years or so, and Im sure that has nothing to do with them doing 10x their normal production since being picked up by Best Try. At one time though for a national brand I loved Infinity. Still make decent home speakers though.
Rockford still sucks since 1996. MTX I have always been ok with them. You can still do better for the money though.
