Power cable to from the battery 12 inches from the battery should be the inline fuse and the rest of the wire should run directly to the amp.

What I mean to ask is, where on the firewall should I stick the power cable through, or will i have to drill a hole in order to get the cable to the back.

I did mine this weekend. I actually upgraded my 8 gauge to a 4 ga for my larger power amp. Rightabovethe driver's footpedals is a large round rubber grommet that attaches to the firewall. You can get to it from either direction inside the car or outside the car. Lift the hood and look in the driver's side far corner firewall and look for the big rubber grommet. I took a screwdriver or something sharp and poked a hole in it, enough space to fit the wire and fed the wire through there.

Go to information thread at the top of the AV forum. I have a picture where to do this from under the hood and inside under your dash almost at the bottom of the 1st page. Please read through most of the information in their before asking another generic question.
