Default Trunk Preasure

I bit the bullit and floated a grand at my local sound shop and now I cant keep the trunk still. I installed a Premier DEH-P960BT with a hifonics brutus 1600x1 amp on 2KICKER COMPVR subs in a sealed custom built box. I have heard that dynamat works pretty good but I think I have more of a preasure problem than a rattle. I fixed the plate with some 3M to the body so it doesn't make noise anymore but the spoiler looks loike it wants to come clean off the car. Short of turning it down you guys have any suggestions to seal the trunk better?

Really there not much you can do. When you have a lot of sound pressure, like you have, the only thing you can do is add another latch. But that is neither practical or easy. Youre just going to have to live with it.
1 thing you might wanna try is unscrewing the little rubber stoppers. They should screw out a little bit and thatll keep the truck more taught. But this is hardly a solution. My buddy had 2 15" RF's in his old Daytona, when the bass would hit the whole decklid would vibrate. You could literally watch it buzzing. It would move about a 1/4". He tried all sorts of things to no avail. And mind you this was a sealed box in a hatchback car.

If you really seal the trunk, how do you expect to get sound into the cabin. You really want to sound deaden the whole thing to the reduce the amount of sound converted to vibrations that is leaving your car.

2 kicker comps really don't create too much pressure.

Oh yeah come stick your head in my trunk. The trunk looks like my hood at 120!!!!! I'm not looking to seal the entire trunk but tring to force more preasure in the cab and not beat the hell out of my lid.

That is a problem with the truck latch, not a sealing issue.

A lot of ford products that latch, doors, hatches and trunks need to be tightened up. If I had a dollor for every loose latch on a ford in the US I would be a very wealthy man. Seriously though, check your latch or if the sides are bouncing like crazy its not pressure, its vibrations that are causing it to flex. Put some deadener on and you will be much better off.

And your subs really don't make that much pressure. Do you ever watch mythbusters?

Dynamat insulates but I doubt this will keep the trunk lid from moving. Unless you put enough of it on that the sheer weight of it will keep it down.

Just like you said P, this is a latch issue. If you can eliminate most of the vibrations in the trunk it should help a ton, but with a crappy latch good luck keeping it from moving.
