ALL I HEAR IS RATTLING
i'm really mad..i went out and bought a 12" type R and a sealed box and an amp, head unit, wires and everything..the sub sounds great IMO..its just enough for the stang..but all i hear is rattling everytime i turn my system up.. the rattling is coming from the back speakers right above where the seats fold down...thats all i hear when i play my sub. i've tried turning the sub different ways but it doesn't really help..
what cna i do to stop the EXCESSIVE, ANNOYING RATTLING?
dynamat? is there a cheaper/home made alternative to dynamat that i could try?
P.S. - When the system is turned up and i push on the carpet above the back speakers above the seats,
the rattling quiets to almost a nothing but thats when i push with a lot of pressure

The carpet above the rear deck isn't held in by much. It just kinda sits in there.I wouldn't think it would rattle though b/c it's a really light material. You might want to pull it out and see if it's anything else under there making the noise. If it is the carpeted piece then you could probaby get away with putting some kind of foamy somthing under it or actually screwing it down in more points to kill the rattle.
Another easy solution might be to remove the rear speakers so the sound waves can travel into the cabin instead of bouncing off of every wall in the trunk.
If that fixes your rattling, its time to upgrade the front stage.

so it turns out i just put some towels in between my trunk and the carpet on top of the speakers in my back seats..it dulled out the rattle by like 90%...i mean there is always usually rattle with a sub especially when you have a 12 in a mustang...
