You need a box, wiring, are you installing it? You already have an aftermarket head unit? If you have $350 for just the speakers, amp and sub, this won't be a problem at all. Fitting it with your budget atleast.

Preal did you get my PM on the brands? If so reply to it man!

Amp- $150 http://ikesound.com/product-product_id/4351

Front comps - $99 http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=5207

Sub $100 http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=3415

Box and wiring - $40

Thats puts you at around $400

If you want to get a cheaper amp $93 http://ikesound.com/product-product_id/2213

That will put you in right at budget.

Hey,, you should consider MTX subs,, they sound great and I think they are a little better than the RF subs just because RF is so damn popular.. I had 2 10inch MTX lower line subs in a bandpass box and swapped them out for 2 new RF 10's (the cheap ones) and the MTX subs sounded sooooooooo much better... I regretted giving them to my buddy to put in a custom trunk box in the back of his 91 firebird.. Mostly because they sounded good as hell in that sealed box... But hey,, you win some you loose some..

Well, this is all wonderful info, but I now am stuck with which one to get and which one not to get. Maybe I'll buy em all. That way I wouldn't have to decide.

Question on sub size: I listen to rock, where precision is valued over volume. I'm more of a quality sound person who likes their music loud, mostly hard rock. I HATE DISTORTION[sm=devilgrin.gif] Would smaller subs(perhaps 2 8" subs) be better than one 12"?

Generally speaking it won't be very loud with 2-8's. Speaker size has nothing to do with any "tone" a subwoofer puts out. You'll hear many people say get a 15 for boom, and playing rap. And get 10's for tight punch, like listening to rock. And that is nowhere near the truth. Im dying to see someone do 4+ of these and see what kind of performance they get.

I've had 2 RE 8's in a RE spec SQL enclosure and they were suprising loud with good SQ. They are now in a sealed enclosure with half the amp power, so they are a little on the quite side.

Check out ED's site for someone that has like 18 of thier EU-700's in a scion.
