An amp will not only make speakers, it will make them sound significantly better.

If your just wiring up speakers, connect speaker wire to the back of the off the front outputs, run the wire to the doors, and connect to the speakers.

YOu might want to double check the resistance of your dash speakers, HU's don't like to operate at 4 ohms let alone 2 ohms.

I tried to hook my sub back up with my new radio but it didn't work. I put the red and white composites in the sub slots but it didn't work. There is a little wire that is connected to the amp on a spot called remote and it is not hooked up to my new radio but the instructions don't even show this wire. what's wrong?

That wire tells the amp to come on.

It is required to get sound. You can either use an amp turn wire if your hu has one or use the 12V switchedaccessory wire that you connected your hu to.

It is always a good idea to fuse the remote wire also.

The wire on my new radio that corresponds to the position on my old one where the amp was connected is red. Should I use this wire?

That should be the correct wire. It is always recommended to use a fuse in line as well.
