Theirs no difference other than their resistance. At a 2 ohm load on your amp (if your amp is stable at that load) your gonna be putting nearly twice the wattage to the speakers than what the amp is rated for. If the subs are single voice coil and your using two of them (2 ohms), you have a choice of running the combo to your amps at 4 ohm or 1 ohm depending on how you wire them.

Back in the day when I ran an old PPI Art series amp it was only 4 ohm stable, so I ran 2 kicker comp 8 ohm speakers into a 4 ohms to get the right load. If your speakers are dual voice coil then you have a sh*t ton of combo's you can make.

no it just means you can change the ohm load using different wiring setups. What you need to do is find out what kind of ohm load you want to run to it, and then get a speaker combination to cater to that.

when your subs are set at 2 ohms they hit harder. Most subs are 8 ohms or 4 but the subs are at their max on the lowest possible ohm.

because some subs can be set at different ohms. Like the kicker L7 and L5 they offer them in 2 or 4 ohms and some come can be set at one ohm. I know this stuff I do this for a living
