Default Alpine or Kenwood?

Got quoted today in two different places for 4 speakers (5x7)and an amp (400W). The price was $15 difference so what should I go with? Alpine or Kenwood?

Your giving me a $650 budget and you were going to buy coax's..... Here are some options...

http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=5091$300 amazing comps, last years model, sold a year ago for $700. Amazing speakers

http://www.edesignaudio.com/edv2/pro...products_id=47$275 Amazing amp

Spend $75 on edead v2 or second skin and deaden your doors.

Set the hpf on the amp to around 60 hz.

You do not need or really want rear speakers for good, loud sound.(Do you turn backwards for an entire concert???? NO!)

If you'd like, for that price you could even do a sub and sacrifice a little on the comp and amp quality...

You reallydon't need rear speakers. Spend the money from those on better fronts.

You can also use the package builder on ED's site to get the Nine.2X and the 6500 comps for $510. That would also be a very very nice setup. (ED 6500 comps are basically the same as CDT-HD's)

Will the speakers in the first link fit a new edge? I'm such a noob. I'm interested in your last sentence (in bold), which is the ED website? Will only front speakers sound loud?

I have only front speakers in my pathfinder with a 12 in the trunk and it is more then loud enough!!! I recieved a sound violation in my younger days.

the site is www.edesignaudio.comthe package builder ison thetoolbar on the left.Use your extra budget for sound deadening. YOu will need it with such high quality drivers. IF your edge had 6x8's like just about every other new ford, you will need to make or buy an adapter but they should fit not problems. YOu might want to check the mounting depth first. Also, give the dimensions, ED will make you a custom baffle to mount the woofer and tweet in the 6x8 location.

I think my edge has 5x7s, will that be a problem? I currently have 2 10" Bazooka subs. w/ 300W amp. Should I ditch those and get something better? I couldn't find the size the EDi 6500 system speakers, will they fit? I like this set up alot, where would the sound deadening go?
