I'll brag about my alpine all day..........

And will continue to for the next decade........

Bet this one gets ugly........
I think he is referring to subs.... but who knows.

I personally think alpine HU's are great. I just wish they still make a lot of amber lighted models that would match the wife's bimmer. Ttocs, you don't seem like the type that would brag about how it is the best HU of all time. There is always better, most people just can't afford it.

What is the criteria of good and bad? I hear hiss talk shyt all the time about this brand or that brand but he never elaborates to say anything other then,"you and your equipment suck" for the most part. Is it SQ? Price and reliability? I also have to ask what his experience in the industry is to give this advise? Hiss I am not insulting you, I just no nothing about you other then you like to give you opinion?

I worked full time as a installer through tech school. I started installing in 93 and after a couple of shops and finishing my electronics education I left the industry and indiana and got a real job. I only work 14 days a month and was getting bored so I found a place locally that needed some help that I work at now for fun. After 14 yrs in the industry and having a degree in electronics I feel I can give an accurate and educatedopinion to help people.

alpine decks are top of the line, can't get any more solid. I have been installing them for over a decade and bet I have not pulled out 10 that were bad. There amps have been a solid product for the last 20 yrs. I still see one or two of the really really old alpine amps per year(the large black bricks) that are 10-20 yrs old and normally look like they have been put under a truck. I always bench test them first sure that they will not work but they do... Their subs I have never been much for and while their speakers are good, I would not call them great. So to say that ALL ALPINE sucks as he does above I think is just plain stupid. Every company makes good and bad stuff....

I would not brag about my alpine as being the best in the world, you are correct. The most you would probably get me to say is that I have been very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone that had the same criteria for a deck that I did. I was serious that I will be able to do this for the next 10 yrs, now that is braggin since not many(if any) people would say that.............................................. .

I am not a pioneer fan but to say that everything they make is horrible again would be bad advise................. I don't give bad advise.....

Pretty close, their Premier line top end decks, and some of their Premier amps and subs are decent. Otherwise Pioneer is crap through and through. The only thing I have to say about Alpine is that there head units usability isn't the best. Quality though is something different. Their amps are decent but nothing fantastic. Unless you get a great price on them I would say there not worth it. And their subwoofers, everyone should know how I feel about those, however the Type-X is a pretty well designed and good SQ and SPL, it's still over priced.

the decks do take some time to figure out but after a week is us just like any new tv remote control and you should know your way around it. You could make the same argument about driving a stick then since it is more difficult then an auto?

Just a random Audio buff.

I've hung around Car Audio shops since I was 15 helping people sell, and listening to them talk.

Steve Cook, taught me alot of stuff, if you know who he is.

I don't quiet have the 10-12 years of expereience installing that's under your belt, but I know my way around.
