Default mach460 with aftermarket amp/subs

I have the mach460 stereo and i think it sounds fine but needs a little more umph! I was thinking of installing an amp and 2 subs. It doesnt have to be a huge amp or subs as i just want more bass. Amp will be running 2 subs only.

I think MD has or had something like this done. Am i correct? Any recomendations for an amp and subs? Want one that sounds good, not overly priced, and like i said doesnt have to shatter my window.

Do i need a line out converter? Will this one work?

Thanks,
Rob

yea just a LOC and amp kit and your set, space is tight under the factory amp rack so if you wanna put the subs there in a box its gonna need to be low profile. I had a fiberglass box made into my spare tire well, I took the spare out to save weight anyways.

you took the spare out and added subs for a weight loss? wtf, they must have really small magnets.

about 8#'s for the subs and amp, another 5# for the fiberglass - already had the spare tire crap out (about 30 - 35 #'s)

so, about 15#'s for everything ain't bad - bout the same as a big ****

you pretty much have to make your own box to fit subs in the trunk.

Well i was actually thinking about stealing MD's idea and taking out the spare and sinking them in. Hey MD did you try this without the fiberglass at all? Will it sound like crap if i just cut 2 holes in the wood panel thingy and sink the subs and add insulation in there?

if you did that it wouldn't be air tight, I suppose if you got something that would work in a free-air or big ported box type sub then maybe yea. fiberglass was easy though - just get a thin piece of board, like 1/4" and lay it over the opeing with your holes already cut outta it, lay the fiberglass cloth over it and spread the reisen in and let it sit for a few hours. Piece of cake.

I know this is kind of off topic with what you guys are talking about, but if you don't already have an amp I have a basically new amp that I am trying to unload.

what is the magnet oz each? my buddy just dropped 2 subs in hios camaro (power acoustik) and they weigh 20# each and the amp weighs an easy 30#. They are 800rms each so they are glass breakingly hard
