Default Down fireing Sub Boxes

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these style of sub boxes in their new edge
http://www.audioboxesonline.com/Ford...10_p_8-98.html

I have 2 12s in my trunk right now in a cookie cutter box that doesnt fit well in the trunk as I need to take out the spare tire to get it in and out, and the amp is mounted to the seat back which I just personally hate. Anyways I want to build a new box that sits up against the seat backs but I cant decide how I want the subs to face. I was going to go rearward because supposidly that will sound the best but I dont like the look of most grilles and I dont want them to get beat up by golf clubs and what not. I was going to have them face the seat backs and then with the seat down you would see them, but I was kinda toying with the idea of having a plexi glass side on it so you can see into the box. So I thought if I did the down firing setup I could put the plexi side facing the seat backs, and then use carpet on the rest so it blends into the trunk.

I have built down firing boxes and they sound great normally, never worked with this one in particular.

The design sounds good.
