I have seen numerous older eclipse units still around, I have also seen a lot of old alpines. On the bimmer forum alpine is a very common choice for HU and people seem to be having a lot of failures on thier newer models.

The upper level of both is superior and I wouldn't mind having either in my pocession. I would however really like an eclipse dead head above almost all others.
