Default Any problems with this setup?

I was wondering if I'm going to run into any problems, long term or short term, such as dimming lights, excessive power loss, etc., while running the following subwoofer setup:

One of these Rockford 12's (http://www.hookedontronics.com/show_....jsp?cid=10716) powered by one of these Sony amps (http://www.hookedontronics.com/show_....jsp?cid=41146).

FYI I have aftermarket pullies. I've heard that makes a big difference when it comes to sound systems. I know it killed my A/C

Sony is apretty crappy brand whenit comes to car stereo. Rockford is good but a little overpriced.

What is your budget and what type of music do you listen too.

Yea, I've heard about Sony's quality. But a friend of mine has this same amp and its really nice. It doesnt get too hot, all that good stuff. So thats the only reason I'm thinking about going with this one. And as for the sub, yea Rockford is really expensive. But since I'm getting it online it's only gonna be about $210 rather than the original $4-500.Anyways my budget is under a grand. And I listen to half metal half rap.

You've got a grand to spend. How dare you mention sony and Rockford. Would you like to have a really nice full range stereo, or do you only want bass.

I only want bass becauseIlike the sound/quality ofmy stock 460 system. I can blast Slayer at near-max volumes (only on the interstate of course, not around town) and it soundsreally good. But the bass is whats holding me back. There needs to be alot more of it for what I listen to. And what's wrong with Sony (well, Sony's usually crappy but trust me on this one amp)and Rockford? Or did you mean how dare I mention them in the same sentence?

He meant, Why would you pay that much for such non-cost worthy options?

sony car audio, other than some of their higher up HUs, is crap. no way around it. and like Hiss said you could get a complete system (including new component speakers and amp for them...in addition to the new sub and sub amp) that would blow the stock 460 so far out of the water it wouldn't even be funny. for $1k or under.

Ohhh got it. But I dont think $210 and $145 is bad? I think the ORIGINAL prices are complete bulls*** haha. And remember laser... I've already heard this amp in a buddy of mine's car and it sounded reallygood and performs just as well. I was the same way about most all Sony products. Well I still am, exceptI like this oneamp now. But you know what Im saying? Around$355 is pretty good, specially when a Rockford sub is included in the mix, dont you think? And keep in mind I only want more bass, so I might as well go all out on it. If I wanted I could throw in the 4 speakers all around and get the new HU and still be under my budget so who knows.

yea man, but you can get a better performing amp across the board for the same price, and you won't get laughed at for having sony car audio in your car. just an FYI. if you liked that amp and it worked for you go for it. but when it overheats (which Sony amps are nutorious for) you're going to have to upgrade and buy twice instead of buying the better one first.
