And I know lots of peoplein my area run Type R's, so they must be good.
Or the fact that they are marketed great, and over-rated.

ALSO. Is it better to run a little more power to your sub then reccomended? Like if a sub calls for 600watts RMS but then I run a 700RMS amp to it...
What you don't trust Alpine or Rockford ratings? It doesn't really matter at this point, if you buy a woofer that says it is 800 RMS, and it's really like 350 RMS, and you buy an amp that says it's 1000 RMS, when it's actually about 600 RMS. Or a combination of other over-ratings, seemsyour original plan is crap anyway because a manufacturer is over-rating their stereo equipment. Welcome to Best Buy, home of the Geek Squad.

Riiight... yea... Im gonna slowly back away and buy my Type R and Alpine amp to match it haha. I have no plans for competitionor showing off too much,so I think a basic little brand name, over-rated system would be great for me Like I said, I've heard only the best about Alpine and the Type R's from local kids, local shops, music stores, etc so I think I'm gonna go ahead and do it. Not like it'smaking a difference where it matters anyway... the 1/4 mile baby [8D]

Music store, what do you mean, a store that sells CD's is where you get your car audio advice?

And yes it is making a difference in your 1/4 mile, you know you can find lightweight, better equipment for less money? I coud care less either way, im done with threads like this, always trying to help people out by utilizing their hard earned money and no-one really caring that they are getting ripped off. You know you could own a driver better than a JL W6 for under $200? But you want to spend $180 on a Type-R? Makes tons of sense... Blend in with all your friends, im surprised your even here, you should just go with what people think is presently cool and buy whats popular and drive a Camaro.

If PReal wants to keep taking time out of his day and making suggestions to people about where to get great equipment for next to nothing, this up to him, but from here out I make one suggestion, and if youngsters in here want to keep wasting money and coming in here asking 100 questions taking what Best Buy employess are too ignorant and stupid to answer and then getting raped with the rest so be it.

If thats what you are going to buy, why would you ask our opinions anyway. Just pay a lot for ok equipment.

If you want better quality and value, let me know.
