Can anyone identify my problem?
ok, I have the Pionner AVIC-D3, and an MTX TE601D and had 2 MTX 6000 12"s in a box with way to little airspace. This is my problem. You would be listening and the subs would just shut off but the amp is still on. The sound would go away. Then come back, but sometimes sound like its only 1 sub working. So I thought maybe the bigger amp I got last week finally finished the subs off. It was doing it before with my old amp but never completely with no bass at all. It would just be like 1 sub going out then coming back on. Anyways. So I replaced the subs and got a box meant forthe subs. On the way home from the shop, it still did it. I changed the RCA cables and it still did it. I have replaced everything I possibly could. Im hoping its not the preouts on the D3 because I will have 2 weeks of downtime getting a new one. So my troubleshoot today is I have the RCAs plugged into the rear ouputs of the deck and I will see if it does it. If it doesn't, I know then its the headunit. But if it does, then what are my other options? I have the deck out and moved some wires around and didn't hear it. Is there some test I could do with a volt/ohms meter to check preouts next time it happens and doesn't come back on? I am gonna head back over to the shop to get my box and subs back since its not the subs that went bad. I will try to make some money back becfause I can't return the subs and box. I will see if he will let me get the 801D while Im waiting on another shipment of 601ds to come back in and try a different amp. I just want to get this fixed, I hate spending all this money to get ****. Well thanks in advance, and sorry for such a long post. I'm just getting frustrated and hoping for some help.
