1967 antenna replacement
Thanks ttocs. I have never had to replace the antenna before so do not know how. I have had a look from the inside of the and up under where the wheel is but cannot see the antenna. Do I have to remove body parts to access the antenna for replacement?
Thanks
Thanks
sorry for the delay. There are a couple of different ways antenna's mount. unfortunatly I am not familiar with that model. Look at the top of the antenna. The base could be simply screwed in or at the very top of the base where the mast attaches there maybe 3 dimples in the round metal piece. If that is the case there is a rachet bit like tool that after you remove the mast, it simply fits into those dimples and turns it counter clockwise to remove it. The cap will come off of the top and the ant will fall out of the bottom.
If you do not see any of these then it could be mounted from the bottom. If there is a wheel well in the way you will need to remove it.
I would also check all the connections along the cable prior to removing it. sometimes there are connections at the firewall or behind the glove box that come loose.
good luck and let me know how it goes or if there are any other Q?'s
