Misc Electrical Probs ('99) : Horn and Window Switch
Okay...I have a '99 mustang that's had 2 electrical problems for some time now, and I'm looking to get them fixed now that the weather's better.
1. Horn - I bought my '99 back in 2000 with 12k miles on it. At some point before then the previous owner installed a really lame air horn in place of the factory one, and sort of screwed up the wires. I know the inside switch works, but am unclear of how the wiring goes from the engine compartment to the horn itself. I did find the wires, but was not able to hook them up successfully. In the mean time, I have a switch hooked up to an aftermarket horn and the battery, which I'd like to get rid of. Does anyone have a wiring diagram of this, or any suggestions on how to attack it?
2. Passenger's side window - The passenger's side window is inopperable - it will go down, but not go up. To check the motor, I wired the 'down' wire to the 'up' wire, and the window successfully goes up. I also installed a new switch on the passenger's side. It looks like there's a short somewhere between the wire and the switch. Does the wiring first go from the Driver's side 'master swtich' to the passenger side switch, or do they work independently? Although I tore apart and tested the passenger's side, I'm thinking there might be an issue with the driver's side wiring that affecting the passenger's side. Does this make sense to anybody? A general summary of exactly how the system works and maybe a wiring diagram would help a lot - the diagram I have totally sucks.
